What are we doing this low season?

Some of the tanks that have to sent for Hydrostatic test.
SCUBA tanks have one of the most important roles in a diver's gear. Since these tanks are often under extremely high pressure they are subject to many rules and regulations. These include a yearly visual inspection, as well as hydrostatic tests every five years.

SCUBA tanks can become contaminated with a variety of undesirable substances including rust, water, filter chemical residue, oil, silicone grease, crystalline aluminum oxide powder etc. While the removal of some of these contaminants is simple, the elimination of most contaminants requires putting abrasive pellets with a solvent into the tank before rolling it in a horizontal position for a specified period of time.

Khao Lak Scuba Adventures have all our tanks visually inspected once a year, and clean the inside of all of our tanks during the low season. Some of the tanks are sending for hydrostatic test.

Our next mission is to service all the regulators. We have a lot to do in the low season, working from 10am to 5pm. Pop by to visit, we are always here : - ).
